The property offers a panoramic view of snow peaks. The peaks on the far left are the border of China. The holy peaks of Neelkanth, Satopanth, Bandarpunch, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Chaukhamba, Dunagiri, and Sunehri Parvat take the centre stage. At the far right is the glorious Nanda Devi.

The areas surrounding the Estate are home to multiple adventure camps that offer a wide variety of activities for our guests to enjoy. Choose from rock-climbing, sky-walking, ziplinig, and many others to satisfy the inner adventurer in you!

SKY WALK

This activity involves walking on a single, long rope across a small valley. You will be attached to a secondary rope above your body with a harness to ensure your safety.

Zip Swing

An exciting activity that combines the thrill of a zipline and a giant swing will surely cause a rush of adrenaline.

SKY BRIDGE

A hanging bridge made of bamboo and bound together by ropes is ideal for the most enthusiastic of thrill-seekers. This activity is popular among tourists visiting the mountains and is conducted by professionals whose utmost priority is your safety and enjoyment.

Valley Crossing

A challenging activity that requires fitness. It involves having to pull yourself across a short valley using your own strength, while being tied to an overhead rope.

Zip Line

An activity perfect for those who enjoy having the wind in their face. This activity involves travelling downhill, across a valley, attached to a rope with a pulley. Enjoy speeds up to 50km/h as you glide across the valley and witness incomparable views from mid-air.

Rock climbing

Rock-climbing is an exhilarating adventure that challenges both the mind and the body. It is a thrilling sport that involves scaling a rock face using a combination of strength and agility. As you ascend the vertical wall, you will experience an adrenaline rush unlike any other. The excitement of rock climbing comes from the physical and mental intensity, the breathtaking views from the top of the rock face, and the sense of achievement of conquering such an obstacle.

Rappelling

PICNIC IN FOREST

On a bright, sunny day, a picnic lunch surrounded by whistling pine trees and enchanting sounds of the forest birds is a truly memorable experience which our team at the resort would be happy to organise. The activity offers a majestic opportunity to dwell into the sound of birds and trees and be one with nature. The heart glowing picturesque beauty of Kaudia forest is home to a huge range of actuality of trees and flowers. The destination is the rendezvous with the wildlife and sky-touching deodar trees.

KAUDIA JUNGLE SAFARI

If trekking into the Kaudia Jungle is not for you, it is recommended to check out the jeep safaris on offer. These safaris take visitors into the heart of the jungle, where they can observe and photograph a variety of plants of animals. Everything from Nilgai, falcons, ravens, musk deer, bears and even very rarely snow leopards can often be spotted. Naturalists flock here in the winter and summer to get a glimpse of the incredible wildlife on offer here. 

THE HOLY SURKHANDA DEVI TEMPLE

Surkanda Devi temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peeth’s in the world. It is at an altitude of about 10,000 ft. above the sea level. Legend has it that the head of the charred body of Goddess Sati fell here when Lord Shiva was taking her remains along with him after she give her life in the yajna started by her father. So a temple was formed here later, calling this place “sir khanda”, which means ‘the head piece’, to calling it “surkanda” over the course of time. From the temple, you can enjoy a complete 360 degree panoramic view of the Himalayan range and nearby places like Rishikesh and Dehradun.

Guests can opt to take the paved path to the temple or an offbeat forest route that is a refreshing hike to the temple. A 2km uphill walk leads to the temple. Ponies and porters are available for hire for those who do not wish to walk. Despite the long hike, the journey to the temple could be extremely rewarding.

TREKKING

Kanatal has more than enough to please trekking enthusiasts. The trekking trails are not only adventurous, they are scenic too! To begin with, you can hike your way up to the Kaudia forest while enjoying thrilling views of the underlying valleys. The forest welcomes the birds who raise a toast to the sunshine and animals like musk deer, Kakar and wild boar that guide you through the way.

We have many trekking routes near our estate which includes dense forest of Deodar , Rodendodron, Oak , beautiful valleys , mountains , magnificent meadows and the fascinating great Himalayan views.

A stroll to the nearby Kainthogi village gives you a chance to take a closer peep into gharwal village home. This experiential trek to the beautiful village of Kainthogi takes our guests back to their roots, connecting them to the essence of real Himalayan village .
